Unicorn bass strings history go a long way back, 30 years to be precise. It started when I approached Malcolm Newton of Newtone Strings to make me a string I hadn´t tried or heard before. Malcolm made some test strings for me and voila, after dozens of trial runs I think he nailed it. And things have progressed after that. And now Neil Silverman of Newtone strings make our special ordered strings.
How they feel and sound... They are made to be as flexible and open sounding as possible with a clear presence in the mid but never harsh sounding in the upper mid and treble. Made with a very high spec steel quality they last a very long time and they still sound very open after the upper treble starts to fade. If you havent tried them yet and this sounds like what youre looking for I would suggest you give them a try. Remember I am here for support if you have any questions.
