routing off the fretboard. This is done in severaI stages to slowly relieve stress. will never heat off a fingerboard.
One of the major problems with Fender necks is that the channel isn´t routed in an even radius, affecting mostly around 4th and 14th fret. Hence the "s" syndrome on these Fenders. Look at the depth in mm numbers written on the neck at different positions.
Routing a 12mm channel for the reinforcement wooden rod and trussrod channel. Then continuing with finishing levelling before fretboard is glued on.
Trimming off excess fretboard.
Neck pocket planed to perfection and with a slight angle, somewhere around 0.75 degree does it. This is for the usual " can't get the action low enough" problem. No shims, no coffee packet cuts, no coins, no nothing! Doesn't belong in a neck pocket.
Saved from a destiny of just being a wall ornament. Instruments should work, otherwise its no point.
Set up for a low buzz free action.
